| Name: | Maureen Epps |
|---|---|
| Birthdate: | 03-12 |
| Location: | United States |
Character Name: Maureen Epps
Journal:
mynameismaureen
Fandom: Ghost Ship
PB: Julianna Margulies
Species: Human
Age: 29
Sexuality: Straight
Physical Description: Maureen has dark brown curly hair and emerald-green eyes. Her skin is usually tan because she works outdoors and in the water for her previous occupation as a ship salvager. She stands at the height of 5'4 and is petite in stature and weight, weighing in at 125 pounds. Her build is athletic yet thin and she always keeps her hair back in a ponytail with some strands falling around her face or jaw. She's brave and it shows in the clothes she wears especially when doing hard work for her job in the ocean or otherwise dirty and disgusting places like at the bottom of boats or under the water.
Her usual outfit consists of a light blue t-shirt, dark brown pants and water proof boots with a tan colored vest.
Personality: Persistent. There's one word to describe Maureen Epps. Her personality is slightly complex but easy to figure out once you get to know the woman. She's stubborn, hard headed and likes to do things her way and only her way. Murphy her Captain knows how stubborn she can be especially when there's something that she knows she can fix and they don't want her to fix it. Maureen believes there is no such thing as wasting time, she can always make great use of her time and especially fixing things or patching up holes in boats and ships. On the other side of Epps is a mother who longs to have children someday and a family. But she knows it's not going to happen anytime soon despite being so young and sticks with her crew of 'knock around guys' in order to keep her own sanity and do her job.
Strong points/Skills:
+ Epps is very good with explosives, particularly C4. She can arm them, blow shit up and can also set the timer properly, even disarm them if needed.
+ Fighting. She's been known to be in a few bar fights in her time, even plucking Murphy out of bar fights. While she does not know specialized hand to hand combat, Epps is very good with her fists and even more skillfull with her common sense and mind.
+ Outsmarting people. She's not so much manipulative as Epps is smooth, cunning and is good at making people believe something that only she knows and they don't.
Weaknesses:
+ She fears rats.
+ Can be killed like any normal human being.
+ Can see and talk to ghosts.
+ Has a thing for the wrong side of the tracks kind of guys. (Ala Jack Ferriman.)
Biography:
Maureen Epps grew up in Manhattan, New York with an upper class family and an older sister. Her life spiraled when she went against what her mother wanted and joined a small salvaging crew near the Berring Strait. Captain Sean Murphy had treated her like his very own daughter for Epps' lack of a father figure in her life and soon they had a young guy named Santos on board. With the six of them it seemed like a dream come true. But that's where the fairytale ended. A man by the name of Jack Ferriman came in their lives at the bar while they were receiving their pay off for the last six months and told them of a ship he had seen. Murphy asked him why he didn't alert the coast guard and he explains more and more about it. Epps takes a look at the picture that he handed off to the crew and explains it might be a military ship.
They go out to the middle of the ocean and strange things begin to happen. The Antonia Graza has been missing for 40 years and now suddenly turned up. Murphy is intrigued by it but Epps just wants to get off the boat in the end, especially when Jack and her find the gold. The gold was used to lure the crew one by one to their deaths so that Ferriman could mark them on their palms. Maureen only knew this because of a young ghost girl's help by the name of Katie Harwood that had told her to come with her and showed her the past of 1962.
Outsmarting Jack, Epps blew up the boat when it was too late for her crew and bid Katie farewell as the little girl went to heaven... just as Maureen was rescued and taken to Canada where they loaded her up in the ambulance and she held the locket thinking it was over. Until the young woman saw the same uniformed men she had seen in the flash back on the very cruise ship that was near the ambulance. Jack Ferriman wasn't too far behind as she screamed and was taken away to the hospital to be looked at.
